CALENDAR OF EVENTS AND DATES TO REMEMBER
2008-2009 SEASON

AUGUST

• Advance reservations open for the 2009 PA State USBC WBA Championship Tournament.
• Promote entries into our Third Annual PA State USBC WBA Queens Tournament to be held at North Versailles Bowling Center in North Versailles.
• Elect delegates to USBC Convention and PA State USBC WBA Annual Meeting if you have not done so at your spring meeting.
• Complete the summary for the outstanding senior bowler for the 2007-2008 season.  Due 8/1/2008.

SEPTEMBER        

• PA State USBC WBA Advance Reservations for Championship Tournament close 9/15/2008.
• Entries are open for National Tournament in Reno, NV.
• Organize new leagues, recruit new bowlers and contact drop-outs.
• Process all league applications and forward to USBC  promptly.
• Entries close 9/24/08 for State 600 Club Tournament in Reading, PA and hosted by the Reading 600 Club.
• PROMOTE PA State USBC WBA TOURNAMENT AND TRAVEL TO LANCASTER IN 2009.  Hosted by LANCASTER USBC.

OCTOBER                    

• PA State USBC WBA Queens Tournament entries close 10/17/2008.
• PA Women’s Bowling 600 Club activities Reading - 10/10-12/08.
• PA State Women’s  “500” Club activities Grove City - 10/24-
• 26/08. 
• Queens Tournament – 10/25-26/2008 – North Versailles Bowling Center in North Versailles, PA

NOVEMBER

• Follow up on leagues that have not certified yet.
• Watch to see when USBC Delegate Credentials are due for USBC Convention in Reno.                                                                            
• Forward PA State USBC WBA delegate credentials to State Assoc. Mgr.  Due on or before 2/18/2009.
• Check if local association manager is submitting dues promptly to USBC.
• HAPPY THANKSGIVING - 11/25/08

DECEMBER                               

• Check on leagues that have not submitted league application.
• MERRY CHRISTMAS - 12/25/08.

JANUARY - 2009

• HAPPY NEW YEAR - 1/1/09.

FEBRUARY                                

• PA State USBC WBA Tournament entries close 2/15/2009.
• In the event a team captain did not receive her tournament schedule letter by 2/28/09, inform her to contact the Tournament Manager promptly.
• Have team captains inform team members of their scheduled dates and times to bowl in the tournament.
• Make housing plans as soon as possible.
• Order banquet tickets for Annual Dinner – Lancaster -4/18/09
• PA State USBC WBA Delegate Credentials dues 2/18/09.

MARCH

• Finalize plans to Lancaster for PA State USBC WBA meeting weekend activities.

APRIL                              

• PA State USBC WBA Tournament opens 4/3/09.
• PA State USBC WBA Meeting Weekend - 4/17-19/09.
• Park Plaza Hotel - Headquarters.
• OPEN HOUSE - 4/17/09
• DELEGATE REGISTRATION
• 4/17/09 - 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• 4/18/09 - 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• WORKSHOP - 4/18/09 - 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• ANNUAL MEETING - 4/18/09 - 12:30 p.m.
• ANNUAL DINNER, HALL OF FAME & SENIOR WOMAN AWARD PRESENTATIONS - 4/18/09 - 6:00 p.m.
• Finalize plans for your travel to USBC Convention – 4/29-5/2/09 in Reno, Nevada.

MAY

• Remind league secretaries to forward final average sheets to local association manager.
• Local associations that compile an average book for the 2008-2009 season.  Forward a copy to the State Manager.
• Within five days after local association meeting, forward names and addresses of the officers who will serve for the 2009-2010 season to the State Manager.
• Process summer leagues.
• Elect delegates to attend USBC Convention and PA State USBC WBA Meeting.
• PA State USBC WBA Senior Tournament entries accepted in the State President’s Office starting 5/1/09.

 

JUNE                                          

• PA State USBC WBA Tournament ends 6/14/09.
• Plan dates for workshops.
• USBC has workshop material available.

JULY        

• Tournament checks will be mailed within 30 days after the tournament closes to the captains.
• First place winners and low in the money will be compiled and forwarded to each team captain entered in the tournament
• Mail required reports to the State Manager on or before 7/1/09.
• State Seniors Tournament – July 18-19/2009 - Erie
• PROMOTE PA STATE USBC WBA TOURNAMENT AND TRAVEL TO WILKES-BARRE IN 2010.
• Completed PA State USBC WBA Hall of Fame resumes due on or before 8/1/09.
• Complete the summary for the outstanding senior woman bowler for the 2008-09 season.  Due 8/1/09.
